My Photography Essay

Planning for my photo essay.

• For this photo essay i started to look at what i could base it on, in the post before i brainstormed what my options old be, i then narrowed it down to the three main options i would prefer to do my photo essay on, from there i then noted down things that i could take photos and write abou if i was to pick the subject. I finally came to the desision that i would do my photo eassy on my four chickens.
• I wanted to take photos and write about my chickens because many people just see them as egg making machines and in a way they are. To me having them as pets, caring for them, stroking and hugging them as well as loving them is the best bit, getting freshly laid eggs in the morning is just a bonus.
• I want to aim this at everyone, three of my chickens are ex-battery farm hens and to have saved them from the poor conditions they were in and nurse them back to heath has been rewarding and i want to be able to show a wide range of people what chickens are actually about.
• I plan on taking picture of them in their everyday life, when they are roosting on their bars, when they are eating and drinking, scratting around and what they get up to when nobody is looking.

Photo Essay

A Photo essay is unlike a normal essay where you have to write pages and pages of words to explain a subject. A Photo essay is where you use photos to explain the subject of your choice through the pictures you take and short captions and sentences along the side to explain.



















Some of my ideas for this new project are:

• Chickens - Day in the life of, feeding them, where they live, eggs (food? cooking), handling them.


• Swanage - Life by the sea side, the beach and coast, attractions, history of the area, land marks.


• Southwater - Country living, area and history, attractions, places to go and visit, people and their life styles.
